I love this!

Las mujeres tienen mayor conciencia ecológica
Las mujeres demostraron una mayor preocupación que los hombres por el impacto de sus hábitos sobre el medio ambiente, además de saber reconocer mejor los peligros que supone una mala práctica de impresión. De igual forma, las mujeres son más proclives a adquirir productos de fabricantes que reciclan.
Además, el 71% de las mujeres se muestran culpables cuando desechan un dispositivo en vez de repararlo, frente al 63% de los hombres. El género femenino es también más consciente del gasto de papel: el 79% se siente culpable al imprimir páginas innecesarias, comparado con el 71% de los hombres.
Las principales conclusiones del trabajo son:
§ El 91% de los encuestados preferiría reparar un dispositivo en garantía antes que deshacerse de él.
§ El 85% elegiría con frecuencia la opción de impresión más ecológica si está disponible con un solo clic o pulsando un botón.
§ El 84% estaría más dispuesto a comprar un producto si el fabricante muestra más respeto por el medio ambiente y se preocupa el reciclaje.
§ El 75% se siente culpable al imprimir páginas innecesarias.

Hace unos meses, un británico ha acudido al hospital aquejado de un raro síntoma: sufría una serie incontrolable de estornudos cada vez que pensaba en el sexo. Asi lo refleja un estudio de las universidades de Chicago y Johns Hopkins en Estados Unidos que se publica en la revista 'Journal of Health and Social Behaviour'.
Los resultados del estudio mostraron que los divorciados o viudos tienen un 20 por ciento más de enfermedades crónicas como enfermedad cardiaca, diabetes o cáncer en comparación con las personas casadas. También tienen un 23 por ciento más de limitaciones de movilidad como problemas para subir escaleras o caminar una manzana.
Además, aquellas personas que nunca se han casado tienen un 12 por ciento más de limitaciones de movilidad y un 13 por ciento más de síntomas depresivos aunque no muestran diferencias en el número de enfermedades crónicas que padecen.

Take it...took it
A New Jersey man was arrested Sunday and charged with the death of former "American Idol" contestant Alexis Cohen during a hit-and-run accident at the Jersey Shore.
Daniel Bark, 23, of Toms River mowed down Cohen in his 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant and left the scene of the predawn Saturday accident, police said. He was charged with second-degree manslaughter, and faces 10 to 15 years in prison if convicted.

When I read the story last Friday about Paris Jackson wanting to sing a tribute song for her father I knew that Joe Jackson was behind it. According to Fox News:
Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, is lining up the King of Pop's children for a world tour as The Jackson Three — despite family members accusing him of trying to "exploit them like Jacko."
Former Jackson Five manager Joe is said to have approached Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year old Prince Michael II — known as Blanket — to hit the stage next year.
But one of Jacko's familymembers is said to be "livid" at the scheme, which will add fuel to the bitter custody battle for the youngsters.

Jackson’s biographer Ian Halperin said yesterday: "Joe wants the children to go on a world tour in 2010. He has also already offered recording contracts to two of Michael’s kids. Now he is talking about getting them the world’s best backing band and taking them on tour as The Jackson Three."
Halperin said yesterday his source for the allegations is extremely close to the family and may soon speak out publicly — out of concern for the future of the youngsters.

Pew poll: Blacks see Jackson media coverage as appropriate

According to the Pew Research Center, while most people found the coverage of singer Michael Jackson’s death excessive, a large percentage of blacks felt differently:
“Blacks followed the death of the African American singer – who had been on the national stage for four decades – more closely than the population as a whole. Eight-in-ten African Americans say they followed news about Jackson’s death very closely, compared with 22% of whites. Women followed the story more closely than men (35% very closely compared with 26%). Close to four-in-ten (38%) of those under 40 say they followed the music icon’s death very closely, compared with 27% of those between 40 and 64 and 20% of those 65 and older.”

Britney, como dulce
Tras llevar su exitosa gira "Circus" a París, acaba de ver la luz la campaña que Britney Spears ha realizado como rostro de la marca Candie’s, que se vende en los almacenes Kohl’s.
La cantante ya fue imagen de esta enseña en la temporada primavera/verano 2009, cuya campaña contenía fotos más sugerentes. En esta ocasión, la estrella nos muestra su lado más tierno, luciendo una figura muy estilizada que, por cierto, ya ha sido cuestionada, ya que dicen que los modelos que exhibe solo alcanzan la talla para niñas de 16 años.
Spears comparte protagonismo con un modelo que sale con ella en gran parte de las fotos.

The beach
Life's a Beach
This weekend I plan on going to the beach. I love the sound of the waves, the sun and just watching nature take its course before me. Funny how many people who live near the ocean hardly ever take the time to enjoy it. I'm one of them and am making an effort to enjoy my time here in FL.

4 days 'till I get to see Aerosmith in concert!
I'm so excited about getting to see this group live. Ever since I was a child I've been following their music and just can't wait until this weekend. I have a bit of a ride from Orlando to Tampa but I've flown and driven longer for others!

Recent study claims that men under stress are capable and willing to take more risks. Now that may sound like old news but hold on there's more. According UCLA men tend to take more risks in these particular areas: unprotected sex, drugs and smoking.....
Un estudio de la Escuela de Gerontología de la Universidad de California del Sur en Estados Unidos asegura que "los hombres bajo estrés podrían ser más propensos a participar en conductas arriesgadas como el juego, el tabaquismo, el sexo sin protección o el consumo de drogas".
Según el estudio que publica la revista PLoS One y que recoge la agencia de noticias Europa Press, por el contrario "las mujeres estresadas moderan su conducta y podrían ser menos propensas a tomar decisiones arriesgadas".
Según explica Nichole Lighthall, directora del estudio, "en términos evolutivos, quizás es más beneficioso para los hombres ser agresivos en situaciones de estrés cuando el riesgo y la recompensa están en juego. Aplicado a los riesgos financieros, es similar a competir por el territorio o por otros recursos de valor".
Los investigadores estudiaron a personas que participaron en un experimento denominado 'tarea de globo de riesgo análogo' y que consiste en conseguir dinero al inflar un globo (unos 5 centavos de dólar americano por soplo).
Según los expertos, el globo podía explotar si se inflaba más allá de un punto crítico designado aleatoriamente, momento en el que se perdían todas las ganancias.
Como resultado, "en el grupo control, hombres y mujeres mostraron niveles similares de toma de riesgos, inflando el globo unas 40 veces de media. Sin embargo, las mujeres del grupo con estrés sólo inflaban el globo una media de 32 veces, los hombres estresados, el globo una media de 48 veces".

Entre los adolescentes, son las mujeres las que usan más las redes sociales (un 76,13% de ellas frente al 59,5% de varones). Al menos, en la Comunidad de Madrid, según se desprende de un nuevo estudio que ha realizado la Universidad Camilo José Cela sobre hábitos digitales, y que está basado en la respuesta de alumnos de los cuatro cursos de la ESO de entre 12 y 16 años.
El informe, que estima que prácticamente siete de cada diez alumnos forman parte de alguna red social, también pone de manifiesto que son los estudiantes que aprueban los que las utilizan en mayor medida (75% frente al 63% de los que suspenden).

And what the surveys make clear is that the vibrator — dismissed as a “masturbatory machine” for “sexually dysfunctional females” in The Journal of Popular Culture back in 1974 — is being used by couples for shared pleasure. Eighty-one percent of women and 91 percent of men who’ve used one report having done so with a partner.
